Hi, I’m Brenton.
For about 10 years, I helped my wife run a childcare program from our small home—and that experience taught me just how valuable every bit of space can be.
How My Small-Space Journey Started
My wife did what she does best—teaching the kids, planning their days, and coming up with projects and crafts to keep them learning and having fun. I helped keep everything else moving.
I made lunches, fixed broken toys, rescued LEGO pieces from drains, put together playground equipment, and helped keep the yard and play areas safe. With lots of children—most of them toddlers—there was always something that needed to be done.
We were doing all of this from a small home, and it didn’t take long for things to get crowded. A large part of our home had to be dedicated to childcare, which left very little space that actually felt like our own.
That’s when I started asking a simple question: “How can I make this space work better?”
Learning to Make Our Small Home Work
Since my wife already had her hands full teaching and planning each day, I took on the challenge of figuring out how to make our home work better.
I wasn’t a professional organizer, and I didn’t have some perfect system. I simply started looking at what we already had and asking myself, “How can I make this space work better?”
A lot of what I learned came from trial and error. Sometimes it meant rearranging things. Sometimes it meant finding a better place for something we already owned. Other times, it meant looking at an unused corner and figuring out how we could put it to work.
Little by little, I learned that you don’t necessarily need a bigger home to make your space feel better. Sometimes you just need to make the space you already have work a little harder for you.
Why I Started Saving Space Simplified
Those years of trying to make our small, busy home more functional are what inspired me to create Saving Space Simplified.
The ideas I share here come from my own experiences trying to organize our home, make better use of the space we had, and find simple ways to make everyday life a little easier.
You’ll find storage ideas, organization tips, small-home inspiration, and products that I think may be helpful. The products I share are meant to give you ideas and options—not to make you feel like you have to buy something. Sometimes the best solution is simply finding a new way to use something you already have.
My Goal
To share practical ideas that might help you take back a little more space and make your home feel more comfortable.
